Tampa Bay Interfaith Week (Fourth Annual)
October 1, 2017 @ 3:00 am - October 8, 2017 @ 7:00 pm
Fourth Annual Tampa Bay Interfaith Week
We sincerely hope you join us for this important event which demonstrates not only the richness and diversity of the faith traditions in our community, but also the best in our community leadership — our ability to show up and have conversations that matter, and participate in dialogue about what we believe while holding a deep respect for our differences.
October 1-8 will mark a city-wide, week-long celebration of the sacred, where individuals and families can explore their city — seeing how other people worship, study or pray as well as participating in community panels or roundtable discussions — and we would love for you to be a part of it.
On Thursday, September 28 at 3 p.m., the St. Petersburg City Council and Mayor Rick Kriseman will officially proclaim October 1-8 as “Interfaith Week 2017.” We invite you to be present with us at this meeting.
Most importantly, if you are interested in producing, moderating or participating in a panel discussion, workshop, prayer service or performance this year in the following categories, please fill out the submission form on or before Friday, September 1.
Interreligious study / literacy
Interspirituality / pluralism
Peace / community-building
Prayer / meditation / contemplation
Ecology / sustainability
Social justice / racism
Music / dance / ritual

* All panels must commit to faith/gender/racial diversity, respectful dialogue, non-proselytizing, a willingness to engage in interreligious dialogue, and the exploration of potentially divisive topics from a variety of viewpoints.
If you are a local church, temple, ashram, mosque, meditation center or spiritual community, there are a few different ways to be involved.
1. List YOUR events on the calendar
We can list on the calendar any events you may have happening that week — from your normal worship, prayer or meditation services to evening classes, open houses, performances or talks.
2. JOIN a panel discussion
If you (or a representative of your organization) would like to participate in a public conversation about interfaith relations (community, family, workplace, etc.) or the topics listed above, just let us know and we can place you on a panel that is most appropriate.
3. HOST an event
If your community would like to host a panel discussion, workshop or special performance (produced by your staff), we would feature this event on the calendar and website as a “Featured Event” and help you promote it.
